1)原句(没有改写之前)究竟是as 引导的方式状语从句,还是as引导的非限制性定语从句?
例如:
Spiders are not insects, as many people think. 有人认为是as引导的方式状语从句,而有人认为是as引导的非限制性定语从句,孰是孰非呢?
但是把as置前:As many people think, spiders are not insects. (该句和上句意思相反),这是as引导的非限制性定语从句,不是as引导的方式状语从句,对吗?

2)as legend would have it - it是指代什么呢?改写后的句子...but legend would have it that he did so.是什么结构含义呢?麻烦分析but legend would have it that he did so语法成分,结构,谢谢!
would是什么含义?it呢?后面that又是什么呢?

争一个方式状语从句,或定语从句的句号,或比较状语从句(你少说了一个),没多大意义,我看到这个网站也多次就这个讨论过,结果越搞越复杂。我们记住as作连词在这种情况下表达in the same way,just like这个最原始本真的意思就行了。Spiders are not insects, as many people think.这句话里有not,而not...as不能分离,故这句话只能是“蜘蛛不像很多人认为的那样是昆虫”。记得这个否定结构就行了,不要挖得太深,多记忆几个句子,就不会错了He is not a soldier, as one might expect.人们可能认为他是士兵,可实际他不是。Keep tactics that work; reevaluate tactics that didn't work as you thought they should.
